Today hotly-tipped pop star Astrid S, who recently hit one billion streams, shares a brand new track with her fans, titled ‘Closer’. The sensual, acoustic guitar-led track shows Astrid’s ability to create open and honest lyrics. ‘Closer’ follows the narrative of a frustrated lover, desiring the attention of someone who is in a relationship with someone else. Of ‘Closer’, Astrid says: ‘I’m so happy that Closer is FINALLY OUT in the world. I feel like this song shows a different and more mature side of me, and I’m excited and a bit nervous for you to hear it.’ Astrid S wrote ‘Closer’ with Oscar Gorres, Ludvig Söderberg and James Allen. The track follows Astrid’s previous single ‘Emotion’, which has received continued support from Radio 1, including Adele Roberts. The video for ‘Emotion’ was released earlier this month and has hit one million views across all platforms. Astrid S has shared an array of exciting announcements this month, revealing that she has been chosen as one of Vevo’s DSCVR ‘Artists to Watch 2019’ and has been long-listed on YouTube’s ‘Ones to Watch 2019’. She also announced that she would be joining internationally-celebrated pop group Years & Years on their UK stadium tour this winter, including a show at London’s O2 Arena on 5thDecember. ‘Emotion’ is the first official release from Astrid S since last year’s ‘Think Before I Talk’, which was her first number 1 single in her home country of Norway. Astrid released her debut, self-titled EP in 2016 which included the breakthrough, 5x Platinum-certified single ‘Hurts So Good’ – the official video for which is currently at 17 million views and counting. Astrid won her first MTV EMA Award for Best Norwegian Act in 2016 and shortly after received her first Norwegian Grammy Award for ‘Newcomer of the Year’.
