Astrid S has been announced as the support for Troye Sivan on his Spring tour of the UK and Europe which takes place across 20 dates throughout April and May 2016. While in London, she will also perform her debut UK headline show, at London’s The Social on April 20. Full details of the tour can be found below.
Of the announcement, Astrid says: “I’m really excited to join Troye on tour. I’ve been a fan of his from the start and I can’t wait to get on the road. This will also be the first time I am going to play my music for a new crowd, so really excited about how they will respond.”
Norwegian-born Astrid S is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on her debut EP, having seen unprecedented success for her first two singles “Hyde” and “2AM.” Her music recently hit 100 million Spotify streams worldwide, with “2AM” reaching 5x Platinum status. The 19-year-old won an MTV EMA Award for Best Norwegian Act in 2015 and soon after she featured on Avicii’s “Waiting For Love” remix EP. Recent duet with producer Matoma, “Running Out” is rapidly climbing the Global Spotify Chart, hitting over 500,000 streams daily.
Acclaim for Astrid S has grown from in her native country to across the globe. Nylon quickly dubbed her “Norway’s next great pop export”, The Line Of Best Fit chose the acoustic version of “Paper Thin” as their Song Of The Day, and Gigwise included her in their list of Artists That Are Going To Be Huge in 2016, dubbing her a “pop-noir sensation”. Added to that, The Fader debuted her “Hyde” video and Spotify included Astrid in their Spotlight on 2016 list.
