Mark Brazier-Jones is totally unique.
Coming from the Creative Salvage movement in the 1980’s, his work used found materials to create new objects of extreme beauty. These objects were functional but also existed as pieces of pure art.
As his resources grew he was able to give vent to an imagination that drew on symbolism, poetry and whimsy to create work that was instantly recognisable. Anchored by beautiful craftsmanship his awe inspiring work continues to evolve, delight and fascinate.
His work has been collected together in a beautiful monograph published by Fiell.
The story of the Creative Salvage movement is told in the book “Cut and Shut” published by Williams Wright Publishing.
