LOVEJOY RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘CALL ME WHAT YOU LIKE’

VIDEO OUT NOW – WATCH HERE
SOLD OUT HEADLINE UK TOUR WILL KICK OFF IN MARCH

British indie-rock group Lovejoy have today released their brand new single, ‘Call Me What You Like’, along with the official music video. Listen to the single and watch the video here.

Directed by bass guitarist Ash Kabosu, the music video for ‘Call Me What You Like’ hones in on frontman Will Gold as he travels on a plane, obsessing over his current love interest while oblivious to the unfortunate events unfolding around him. The punchy song features lyrics about a confusing relationship, with Will eventually acknowledging “I’m not paranoid, I’m a realist/I know you’re gonna kill me” in the song’s hook.

On the story behind ‘Call Me What You Like’, he says: “It’s about the phase in any kind of relationship that isn’t a relationship yet, where you’re not sure of the ‘what are we?’ That idea that you want it to be more than just a fling but you’re struggling with the commitment.”

The fast-rising young band will embark on a sold out UK tour next month playing shows in cities including London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow before continuing with dates across Europe. This week they announced their first ever North American headline tour with 20 shows across the USA and Canada which kicks off in May. Tickets for the new shows are on sale here.

The new tour follows Lovejoy’s first ever shows both in the UK and USA last year – all selling out in seconds – further highlighting their huge fanbase which includes 30 million fans across their social channels and 700 million global streams.

The band released their debut EP ‘Are You Alright?’ in May 2021 which includes the song ‘One Day’. The single currently boasts over 105 million streams on Spotify alone and continues to climb. In October 2021, the band released their second EP ‘Pebble Brain’ which hit the Number 12 spot on the UK Album Chart based on streaming alone.

Since the band’s debut, they have grown an incredibly dedicated fanbase, selling out shows across the globe, accumulating hundreds of millions of streams across their discography, and seeing over 48,000 fans join their new Discord server in just 24 hours.

The band are frontman Will Gold, Ash Kabosu (bass guitarist), Joe Goldsmith (guitar, songwriting) and Mark Boardman (drums, percussion).

The upcoming UK tour and festival dates in full are –

25 March – SWG3, Glasgow, UK
