Pet Shop Boys RELEASE THEIR FIRST NEW MUSIC SINCE 2021, AN EXCLUSIVE FOUR TRACK CD ACCOMPANYING THE 64-PAGE BOOKPet Shop Boys ANNUALLY 2023’, WHICH IS OUT NOW

THE CD ‘LOST’ FEATURES FOUR SONGS WHICH WERE RECORDED IN 2015 BUT NEVER RELEASED, WHILE THE DIGITAL EP ALSO INCLUDES THE PREVIOUSLY RELEASED BONUS TRACK, A NEW MIX OF ‘LIVING IN THE PAST’

‘ANNUALLY 2023’ IS AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY FROM PET SHOP BOYS’ OFFICIAL ONLINE STORE AT PETSHOPBOYS.CO.UK

Pet Shop Boys’ 2023 edition of their ‘Annually’ book is out now.

The 64-page hardback book includes an exclusive CD EP titled ‘Lost’ of four tracks recorded in 2015:

‘The lost room’
‘I will fall’
‘Skeletons in the closet’
‘Kaputnik’

The four songs were written and recorded as demos in London and Berlin in 2015 for potential inclusion on the album ‘Super’ but were not used, “not because we didn’t like them,” says Neil Tennant, “but because they didn’t fit the album.” The decision to release them now as an EP was made because “they all sit together quite well, production-wise, they’re all super-electronic,” and also “some of them are sort of relevant to the world at the moment”. The EP takes its title from the first song, ‘The lost room’, but “it also seems to represent a sort of larger, philosophical or political point, where there have been times recently where the world feels a bit lost in terms of the direction it’s going in.”

All songs were written and produced by Pet Shop Boys and mixed/engineered by Pete Gleadall. Cover artwork is by Farrow/PSB. The digital EP, also available now, includes a bonus track, a new mix of ‘Living in the past’, which was released last month.

Pet Shop Boys produce a new issue of ‘Annually’ every year and the 2023 edition features a host of special content including the following:

A diary and behind-the-scenes photos from the first leg of the Dreamworld tour, including headlining the Other Stage at the Glastonbury Festival.

Neil and Chris discuss the Pet Shop Boys/New Order co-headline Unity tour of North America, with exclusive photographs by New Order’s creative director Warren Jackson.

From the archive – a feature and photos reprinted from The Face magazine in 1993, covering PSB’s first visit to Russia, when they launched MTV Russia and shot some of the ‘Go West’ video in Moscow. Neil and Chris also give their memories of this trip from almost 30 years later.

News from this past year and information about future plans.

Exclusive photos, answers to selected letters and more.

‘Pet Shop Boys Annually 2023’, including the special 4-track CD ‘Lost’, is available exclusively from the PSB store for £25 (plus P&P).

Pet Shop Boys have commenced work on their next studio album and have announced new tour dates for late spring/summer.
