Somersault Festival 2015 – GATES ARE OFFICIALLY OPEN!

SUMMER SOUNDS & OUTWARD BOUNDS

23rd – 27th JULY 2015

Somersault Festival 2015 officially opened its gates this morning (23rd July 2015) welcoming thousands of festival goers to the grounds of North Devon’s beautiful Castle Hill Estate.

As revelers arrive for the family festival’s second year, the site is poised to offer a four day extravaganza of stripped back happiness – jam packed full of activities for all to enjoy. Throughout the weekend, Somersault Festival will feature un-missable headliner music, ultimate Wild Wellbeing relaxation, gastronomic feasts from the UK’s top chefs, plus arts and crafts, circus and spectacular open air theatre, comedy, outward bounds and much, much more. For those keen not to miss out, a limited number of tickets are still available on the gates.

LAURA MARLING, BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB, PASSENGER AND CRYSTAL FIGHTERS will headline the main stage, following an extensive line up featuring a host of artists, including IMELDA MAY, ANGUS AND JULIA STONE and THE STAVES. When the live music draws to a close, the night remains young for those wishing to venture into the forest, as the party continues with DJ’s such as DJ YODA and NORMAN JAY MBE taking to the decks until the early hours.

On site there is an impressive range of circus, theatre and dance. Gorilla Circus are back with their stunning trapeze show and will be joined by a variety of newcomers including; The Invisible Circus, Acrojou and Cscape Dance Company – all with their own brand of unique theatre production.

Younger members of the Somersault audience will also have a great deal to look forward to at this year’s festival. Whilst on site, little ones will be welcome to enjoy an array of activities and classes such as circus skills, craft sessions, fancy dress and face painting. Theatre production company Rhubarb Theatre will also be on hand to host their walkabout storytelling and fantastical theatre shows for all the family to enjoy.

Festival guests will be able to experience ultimate relaxation at the festival’s Wild Wellbeing area on site at Somersault. Brand partners REN Skincare and Yogamatters and the Wild Wellbeing team will be on hand to offer a range of facials, massages, yoga classes, meditation and mindfulness sessions suitable for all the family.

For those looking to refuel in gastronomic style, multi-course campfire feasts are available from JAMIE OLIVER’S FIFTEEN CORNWALL, VALENTINE WARNER, THE ETHICUREAN AND RIVER COTTAGE. Also on site are SHARPS BREWERY, offering food and craft beer tasting sessions, at the SHARPS BREWERY Secret bar.

Away from the music, Somersault’s coastal setting invites guests and their families to try their hand at numerous off site Outward Bounds activities. The nearby Putsborough Sands and Exmoor sites will host surfing, paddleboarding, mountain biking, rock climbing, canoeing and hiking. In the festival grounds the activities continue – falconry, archery and many more throughout the weekend.

Renowned TV and radio presenter JO WHILEY will also be on site, hosting a vintage themed daily garden party at the beautiful West Wing of Castle Hill. Set in magical gardens overlooking the estate, guests will enjoy a classic afternoon tea, witness a secret set from very special musical guests and a bespoke fashion show curated by fashion designer Minna.
